YDL is committed to fostering a progressive future through the following core objectives:

Elect Democrats: We actively support the election of Democratic candidates at all levels of government. YDL members are engaged in campaign efforts, voter outreach, and mobilization strategies that aim to ensure Democratic victories and secure leadership that upholds the principles of fairness, justice, and opportunity for all.

Advocate for Progressive Issues: We champion policies that reflect the needs and desires of our generation. From climate action and criminal justice reform to healthcare access and education equity, we work to elevate issues that matter most to young Louisianans. We believe in the pursuit of policies that promote social justice, economic fairness, environmental sustainability, and human rights.

Train Future Leaders: YDL is dedicated to nurturing the next wave of political and civic leaders. We offer training and mentorship to young Democrats, empowering them with the skills, confidence, and experience necessary to lead at the local, state, and national levels. Our members gain firsthand experience in organizing, advocacy, and governance, preparing them to be effective leaders in politics and beyond.

YDL provides a platform for young voices to be heard, valued, and mobilized. By providing opportunities for leadership, civic engagement, and public service, we ensure that our generation has a lasting impact on Louisiana’s political and social landscape.
